Welcome to the 2018 Southern Company Generation Technical Conference registration site. The conference, being held August 20 – 23 at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Alabama, will consist of sessions focused on major systems and/or technologies

The sessions will be facilitated by E&CS Technical Services subject matter experts. Key topics in each session will include:

  • Communication and implementation of best practices.
  • Recent events and RCAs – Experts will share experiences around equipment and processes.
  • Communication that reinforces fleet standards, initiatives, practices, and other requirements.
  • Other system/technology topics of interest.

PARTICIPATION:  This is an active learning and sharing experience. Attendees are expected to communicate with the facilitators prior to the conference to establish the agenda; actively participate during the sessions; and provide your management a formal meeting report-out that includes key take-aways, recommendations, and specific follow-up actions.

SESSION REGISTRATION:  Check with your employee development coordinator or manager to verify sessions you are approved to attend, then register for your session(s) by clicking on the "Register" tab above.

VENDOR SHOW:  You have the option to register just for the Vendor Show on Tuesday or Wednesday, even if you are not able to attend a session.  Please refer to the Vendor Show Floorplan tab for information about the vendors currently registered.

LODGING:  Lodging expenses for non-local plant employees of Southern Company Generation (SCG) and Southern Power Company (SPC) will be covered by conference vendor revenues.  Follow the directions on the Hotel/BJCC Information tab to make your reservation online.  You will still need to provide your corporate card when making your reservation online or by phone, but your room and tax will go to the master bill after the conference. A credit card will still be needed when you check-in for incidentals.

MEALS:  Breakfast, snacks, and lunch will be provided each day of the conference. Emphasis is being placed on cost control for the conference and, as a result, meals and breaks are for conference attendees only.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference and hope it will be an informative experience for you.
