Networking Field Tour: Charles B. Henson Preserve at Johnson’s Creek

Tour part of a 2,400-acre conservation project that aims to bring caving, hiking and more to North Georgia.

Tour property owned and managed by the Southeastern Cave Conservancy Inc. and the Georgia/Alabama Land Trust, including: 40 caves, among the highest concentration in the Southeast,forest restoration and invasive species treatments funded by a National Fish and Wildlife Foundation 2015 Cumberland Plateau Stewardship Fund grant.

Attire: Casual water-resistant shoes

Difficulty: Two options, light and moderate. Light walking, or a moderate uphill hike and caving opportunity.

Materials: Sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, bug spray, camera
