Corey started with Georgia Power Company in May of 2000 and completed the Lineman Development Program in 2004. He worked as a lineman and troubleman on the Georgia Power system. In 2007 Corey joined the Georgia National Guard and, after completing initial entry training was assigned to a Long Range Surveillance (LRS) Company where he served as a Paratrooper on a LRS Team. In 2011 Corey was injured in a military parachuting accident and was medically retired in 2014. Upon return to work at GPC he was unable to continue work as a transmission lineman due to his service connected disabilities. After spending time in the GPC DCC as a Distribution System Operator, in August 2016 Corey obtained his FAA Part 107 Unmanned Aircraft Systems Remote Pilot Certificate and was allowed to pursue a developmental role with Aerial Services. In 2017 a position at System air was created and Corey now fills the role of the UAS Standardization Pilot.
