Southern Company UAS Conference

September 22, 23, & 24, 2021

We hope that you will join us for the 4th annual Southern Company UAS Conference.  Whether you are currently leveraging the technology or a novice, you are sure to find value as you will hear firsthand how the technology is improving efficiency, safety, and reliability across the company.

A highly innovative organization, Southern Company remains on the cutting edge of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) technology and integration within the energy sector.

Currently employing more than 160 remote pilots and 200 sUAS across the system, we are leveraging UAS technology in support of power generation, transmission, distribution, security, land management, economic development, renewables, storm response, and many more.  Our pilots continue to find new and innovative ways to exploit the technology on behalf of the company.

If you are interested in UAS technology and would like to learn more, please join us on the afternoons of September 22, 23, and 24th via Microsoft Teams.

The conference will bring together UAS stakeholders and industry partners from across the Southern system.  The agenda will include presentations from James Goosby, Assistant to Chief Operating Officer - Southern Company, Southern Company – Aerial Services Leadership, and an update on our Group 3+ Beyond Visual Line of Sight Project, as well as presentations from our internal users, and our various industry partners to include:

  • Skyward, A Verizon Company

  • Georgia Emergency Management Agency
  • Drone Deploy

  • Southern R&D

  • Electric Power Research Institute
