Donna Hill is an Environmental Affairs Principal Scientist for Southern Company. In this role, Hill provides expertise to the Land and Water team which oversees Southern’s engagement in Federal environmental policy involving land, water, and waste regulatory rulemakings.
Hill began her career at Southern Company 33-years-ago in Research & Environmental Affairs and has served as the Chair of the Utility Water Act Group’s (“UWAG”) Effluent Guidelines Committee for the last 17 years. She is also the Chair of the Electric Power Research Institute’s (EPRI) Program 240—Water Quality and Effluent Guidelines – providing ongoing leadership and guidance on many EPRI research projects aimed at development of cost-effective approaches to improving water quality.
She is the recipient of the Electric Power Research Institute’s Energy and Environment Sector Advisor Impact Award, a prestigious award highlighting leadership and excellence in research and development initiatives for the energy industry. She is recognized for providing insightful and timely advice on research aimed at informing the EPA’s Effluent Limitations Guidelines rulemakings.
Hill graduated from Mississippi College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and received a Master of Science degree in Environmental Management from Samford University.
