Bruce joined Georgia Power Company full-time in 1985 after working as an Intern in the Albany Operating Distribution Area from 1980 - 1984 while attending school at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Bruce has served as a Distribution Engineer in both Conyers and Gwinnett Regions, a Transmission Test Engineer in the Metro TMC, a TMC Supervisor in the Statesboro TMC, and Substation Construction Manager in Forest Park. Of the 38 years served with Georgia Power Company, 22 of those years have been in leadership roles. He currently serves as Protection & Control Field Services Manager for GPC which entails responsibilities for leadership in workforce planning, coop/intern program, management of the capital and O&M projects for PCFS Support, statewide support responsibilities for the P&CFS organization.

While gaining experience in both Distribution and Transmission, Bruce has successfully led the Operational Excellence Committee as Chair on 3 separate occasions, sponsored the SoCo Physical Substation Construction Review Committee while a member of the SoCo Construction & Maintenance Committee, represented GPC P&CFS on the SoCo Technical Training Committee, and been a member of the SoCo Substation Design Committee. He was recently instrumental in forming and sponsoring the new SoCo P&CFS Work Practices Review Committee. Bruce has also chaired the SoCo Substation Committee for 2 previous years and now is Sponsor of the Condition Based Maintenance – Working Group while also serving as Business Lead for the SoCo CBM program.
