Kelly began his career with Southern Company in 2002 as a co-op student at Plant Harris and later at Plant Barry. In 2007, he was hired as a full-time Plant Engineer at Plant Scherer by Georgia Power Company. There, he worked his way up to positions of increasing responsibility, including Senior Engineer and Maintenance Team Leader. In 2014, he transferred to Alabama Power Company as an Operations Team Leader and later Unit Owner at Plant Greene County. He then transitioned to Southern Company Services in 2018 to become the Assistant To the Vice President of Technical Services in the Technical & Project Solutions organization. He maintained that position until 2021 when he assumed his current role as Senior Engineer for the Fleet Strategy Maintenance and Reliability organization. Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama.
