Bill Tinsley is the SCS Excitation SME. In this role, he provides technical guidance for excitation and voltage regulator retrofit work as well as routine reliability testing of generator excitation systems. He also performs field testing required to support several NERC standards related to modeling and settings for excitation systems. Bill came to Southern Company is 2006 after graduating from Auburn university with an Electrical Engineering degree.
