Forrest began his career with Southern Company in 2011 as a co-op student working in Bulk Power Operations (Transmission) and Generation at Plant Gorgas. In 2015 he hired on full-time with Alabama Power as an engineer in the Birmingham Regional Outage Planning group. He progressed through various positions including Engineer at Plant Gorgas, Maintenance Team Leader at Mankato Energy Center (MEC), Operations Startup Team Leader at MEC, and Engineer at Plant Wansley CC. Most recently Forrest has served as a Team Leader in Generation Support, providing strategic direction for asset management and data analytic tools to optimize SPC operational and maintenance strategies.
