Carl Toner is currently Digital Transformation Manager for Southern Company Operations’ Technical and Project Services organization. In this role he is responsible for leading the development of digital transformation strategy, implementing digitalization initiatives, and executing data remediation projects for Generation and Power Delivery. He has held multiple positions during his 40-year career at Southern Company including Project Engineering Manager, Performance Improvement Manager, Project Manager, and Civil Engineering Manager with experience spanning fossil, nuclear, and hydro power generation, and has served in leadership roles for multiple industry committees and technology groups. Toner holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama and a M.S. in Structural Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He and his wife have 3 adult children and live in Hoover, Alabama.
