John is a registered Professional Engineer with 26 years of design experience in heavy industrial and commercial projects. John began his career with a consulting firm in 1996 and was responsible for the design of commercial, industrial and residential projects where he gained broad experience in design of concrete, steel, aluminum, timber and masonry structures. In 2006, John joined Southern Company where he worked as a structural engineer in the Civil Design organization on new generation, environmental, retrofit, and hydro projects. He progressed through the Civil Discipline Lead and Team Leader roles and became a Civil Design supervisor in 2011. John is responsible for providing direction, training and oversight for 20+ civil/structural employees who provide SME expertise and design solutions for projects across the Southern Company fleet.
