Stacy Sprayberry is a Manager within the Environmental Solutions department, directing the Sitework team, Project Engineers for Ash Pond Closures, and Civil Field Services. Stacy is celebrating his 21st year with the Company this year. He received a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham before going on to receive a Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering from Auburn University. Stacy holds Professional Engineering licenses in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Florida. Before coming to Southern Company, Stacy worked for Gallet and Associates, now Terracon, in the soils and concrete labs. He also worked in the field as a technician, testing soil and concrete for Quality Control and Quality Assurance. After coming to Southern, Stacy held increasing levels of responsibility in both the Earth Sciences and Civil Field Services departments. Stacy also served as the Construction Manager on the first ash pond closure in Alabama at Plant Gadsden before bringing those lessons learned back to the Environmental Solutions department to incorporate into all of the future pond closure designs.
