William Munn is Principal Engineer in the Technical and Project Support Group at Southern Company Services.
William has worked with Southern Company for 19+ years developing substation designs. He currently works in equipment and standards department developing substation standards and works on special projects related to Static Var Systems (SVS) and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS). He is involved with industry standards that include National Electric Safety Code (NESC) - Subcommittee 3 Supply Stations, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) subcommittees for Substation Clearances, Bus Design, GIS, Air Core Reactors, and Capacitors. He is a senior member of IEEE.
William holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Auburn University and a Master of Science degree with emphasis in power systems from the University of Arkansas. He is a registered professional engineer in the states of Alabama and Georgia.
