Tonia Thompson is Operations Safety and Health Manager – Field West providing safety support and expertise to business units in Alabama and Mississippi.
Tonia began her career in 2001 at Plant Gorgas as a chemcial technician and moved into Compliance as a Safety & Health Specialist in 2006. In 2016, Tonia was named Compliance Team Leader responsible for safety, health, environmental, and fire protection programs, as well as the emergency repsonse team.
As years past, Tonia’s passion for safety grew stronger. Tonia then served as the Safety and Health Coordinator for Generation Safety and Health supporting fossil, gas, hydro, and solar facilities. Determined to give the best of herself to safety, Tonia worked hard and became SCS Safety and Health Manager supporting Southern Linc, Aerial Services, Operation Services, Supply Chain, Southern Telecom, SCS Transmission, Hydro Services, and Commercial Operations, Planning and Environmental.
Tonia is a Certified Safety Professional who holds a B.S. in Biology and a MSPH in Environmental Health Science/Toxicology from the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB).
