As Vice President of Technical Services in Southern Company’s
Technical and Project Solutions (T&PS) organization,
Rick Anderson oversees the technical support for all gas,
renewable, hydro and coal generation assets owned or
managed by Southern Company.
Rick began his career with Southern Company in 2001 as an
Engineer at Plant Branch. He has held numerous leadership
positions at Plants Branch, McDonough, Scherer, Barry, Wansley, Bowen and Miller. In
2014, Rick was named Assistant To Kim Greene, Chief Operations Officer. The following
year, he became Operations and Maintenance Manager at Alabama Power’s Plant Miller
and subsequently served as Plant Manager at Gulf Power’s Plant Crist. Rick transitioned
to T&PS in 2019 to lead the Projects East team in their work on coal combustion residual
(CCR) projects, decommissioning projects and retrofit capital projects. In April 2021,
Rick temporarily joined Georgia Power as the CCR Program Management Office (PMO)
Transition Director responsible for establishing formalized controls for their CCR program.
In 2022, he was named Vice President of Technical Services, where he leads the team in
providing technical support to customers across the Southern Company system.
