Kirk Ellison is the area lead for the Electric Power Research Institute’s (EPRI’s) water and coal combustion products research programs, as well as the program manager of the Water Treatment Technologies (P238) program. Kirk has a bachelor and master’s degree from Clemson University in Environmental Engineering.
Kirk has over a decade of experience in the power industry. His experiences in water research include FGD wastewater and landfill leachate and technologies for wastewater volume reduction, brine management, and encapsulation technologies, taking a holistic view of wastewater management from the source through landfill disposal and long-term post-closure care.
Before coming to EPRI, Kirk worked for Southern Company as a research engineer where his work focused on water and waste management technologies.
