Jeremiah Haswell serves as Georgia Power's Regulatory Affairs Director. In this role Jeremiah will lead the Company's efforts through a busy regulatory calendar in 2025, including the 2025 Integrated Resource Plan and Rate Case.
Previous to the role Jeremiah served as the Vogtle 3 & 4 project's lead interface with the Georgia Public Service Commission and the Vogtle Co-Owners, held responsibility for DOE Loan Guarantee Agreement compliance, and Project Governance and Oversight - including construction, testing and project controls oversight.
Since 2012, Jeremiah has held multiple roles during the construction of the country's first new nuclear units in three decades near Augusta, Georgia. He was the Construction Compliance Supervisor over the Turbine Island and Balance of Plant activities at Vogtle 384. In this role he led a team providing oversight on the contractor construction activities to ensure safe, quality, compliant construction. Jeremiah transitioned from Souther Nuclear to Georgia Power as the Regulatory Manager in 2016 and his responsibilities have grown to his current role.
Jeremiah was instrumental in the 2017 Vogtle "Go" decision in developing Project Execution plans, negotiating contracts, building the continuation proposal to the Georgia Public Service Commission, and acting as a Company witness to obtain approval to complete the Project Jeremiah's experience is also built on a variety of leadership roles during his career with Southern Company. Prict to working on the Vogue 384 project, he held multiple Team Leader roles at Alabama Power's Plant Gorgas in the areas of Maintenance, Engineering and Compliance. Jeremiah has also gained experience in the areas of transmission line design, power generation
efficiency, environmental controls and renewable energy research and development.
Jeremiah earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a MS in Civil Engineering (Construction Management), both from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Jeremiah has also completed an MBA from Augusta University. He is a registered Professional Engineer, a member of many technical societies and an active member of Citizens of Georgia Power and the UAB Mechanical Engineering Advisory Board.
Jeremiah is married to Lindsay Greer Haswell of Birmingham, AL and they have three children, Jeremiah Greer, Mary Harper, and Noah Harold Haswell.
