Anthony Miller joins Southern Company Gas as a Diversity and Inclusion Consultant responsible for engagement and special projects. He will be responsible for coordinating and executing employee engagement initiatives that support the strategic goals of the business. Anthony will report to me.

Prior to joining Southern Company Gas, Anthony was the Diversity and Inclusion Specialist for The Galloway School, working with stakeholders inside and outside of the school to achieve its strategic diversity and inclusion objectives. He oversaw initiatives for the entire school community, including faculty, staff, administrators, Pre-Kindergarten to twelfth grade students, Board of Trustees, and alumni. He created and facilitated D&I training sessions, planned retreats focused on issues of race, class, and gender, collected qualitative and quantitative data on teachers integrating D&I into their curricula, and partnered with area organizations, including the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, to leverage professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.

Before his time at The Galloway School, Anthony worked as a diversity and inclusion consultant serving for-profit and non-profit organizations. Additionally, he spent time as a research assistant at the Center for the Study of Adult Literacy and worked for seven years as a professional tutor.

Anthony holds a Master of Educational Research, Measurement, and Statistics degree from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Social and Economic Justice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has trained health counselors in Kenya on D&I best practices as an invited diversity specialist as well as presented on his work at Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Project Zero Conference.

In his free time, he enjoys traveling, cooking, baking, and playing trivia in an online league that has been described as bougie but also very fun. Anthony and his wife, Mary, just celebrated their one-year anniversary this summer.
