Allison Swagler is a Charitable Giving Specialist for the Alabama Power Foundation where she oversees the foundation’s impact investing program. She is responsible for a $1 million annual investment budget focused on helping Alabama nonprofits develop mission-aligned, revenue-generating projects and helping Alabama businesses pilot socially-conscious business ventures.
Allison has experience with program-related investments, loan guarantees, mission-related investments, impact investment strategy, due diligence, and project sourcing. Since launching the program, Allison and her colleagues have executed $1.8MM in program-related investments and loan guarantees.
Allison graduated from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications and a minor in Poverty and Human Capability Studies. She also earned her MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
She is an active club member and past board member of the Rotaract Club of Birmingham. She is also a member of the board of directors for The Literacy Council of Central Alabama. She lives in Birmingham with her dog, Charlie.
