Tae Cruz began his career with Georgia Power in January 2014 as an engineering intern where he successfully managed the LED Lighting Replacement Project. Upon the completion of his internship, he was offered a full-time position where he began serving as a project engineer for various systems - Air & Gas, Fuel Handling, Fuel Burning, and Plant Facilities. He is currently responsible for managing multiple O&M and capital projects for the Water Treatment and Ash Handling systems. Tae holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Tae came to the United States from South Korea at age 11 and spent much of his childhood in Augusta, Georgia, While enrolled at Georgia Tech , Tae worked as a property manager and was given an opportunity to work as an intern at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS). Tae is a very active individual and is passionate about project management where he hopes to advance his skills within Southern Company.

While working on various environmental equipment, Tae utilizes UAS in support of precipitator and baghouse expansion joint inspection to better plan for the upcoming outages. The UAS team conducts inspections that are not only cost effective and efficient solution, but a safe way to conduct specific inspection at the generating plant. The inspection results provide pertinent information to determine the condition of the plant equipment where proper planning can be done when damages are found.
