Jay Monahan, PGA TOUR Commissioner

Jay Monahan was appointed the fourth commissioner of the PGA TOUR on November 7, 2016, officially taking office and succeeding former Commissioner Tim Finchem on January 1, 2017.

Monahan, who joined the PGA TOUR in June 2008 as Executive Director of THE PLAYERS Championship, had served as Deputy Commissioner since April 1, 2014; he assumed the additional title of Chief Operating Officer in early 2016, working directly with Commissioner Finchem on the entire scope of the TOUR’s business operations and strategy.

Prior to that appointment, Monahan served as the PGA TOUR’s Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President-Business Development.

Monahan came to the PGA TOUR from Fenway Sports Group (FSG), where he was FSG’s Executive Vice President. Prior to joining FSG, Monahan spent three years as Executive Director at IMG Worldwide, where he played an integral role in the development of what is now the Dell Technologies Championship at TPC Boston in Norton, Mass., and served as the tournament’s first director.

Monahan began his sports sponsorship career as Director of Global Sponsorships and Branding Programs at EMC Corporation. Previously, he worked at Arnold Advertising and Bob Woolf Associates.

Monahan graduated from Trinity College in 1993, where he was a four-year member of the golf team and a Division II Academic All-American his senior year. He earned a master’s degree in sport management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1995. Monahan and his wife, Susan, have two daughters, Sophie and Phoebe.

Bryan Anderson, Executive Vice President and President, External Affairs | Southern Company

Bryan Anderson is executive vice president and president of External Affairs for Southern Company, one of America’s premier energy companies. Anderson serves on the company’s executive management council and also is responsible for the company’s branding, corporate communication, public relations, security policy, and additional external affairs functions. Since joining Southern Company in 2010, Anderson has directed the company’s political, policy and regulatory activities and managed the company’s Washington, D.C. office.

Prior to joining Southern Company, Anderson served as vice president of government relations and public affairs for The Coca-Cola Company. In this role, he was the company’s primary liaison to the White House, Congress, federal agencies, trade associations and major coalitions on U.S. public policy issues. He also was responsible for the strategic planning, budget development and implementation, and administration of the Washington office. Prior to Coca-Cola, Anderson served in the law offices of Sumner and Hewes in Atlanta and O’Connor and Hannan in Washington.

Anderson serves on the board of governors for Ford’s Theatre and is a member of the advisory board for Politics & Pro’s, which benefits First Tee. He also serves on the boards of the U.S. Chamber Global Energy Institute, The First Tee of Greater Washington, D.C., the Business Government Relations Council and the Chambliss Leadership Fund.

A native of Georgia, Anderson earned a bachelor of business administration with a concentration in finance from the University of Georgia and a juris doctor from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, and the District of Columbia Bar.

Anderson resides with his wife, Katy, and their three children, in Chevy Chase, Maryland
