Thank you for serving our country through the military. Your service keeps our nation free so that we may truly enjoy what our forefathers envisioned--those unalienable rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. I had two uncles who served in the military--one in WWII and another in the Korean war.

I am not in your shoes and I know I can never fully understand the sacrifices you make for me, your family and our country; however it is because of your sacrifices that I am able to enjoy our freedoms..... with the deepest sincerity and humility, I simply say, "thank you", for all you've done..

I have always been very patriotic and appreciative to all of those who have served our country in the US Military. I learned this at a very young age while hearing stories from my Grandfather who served in the US Military, then by my Father, Thomas Shaw, who served many years in the National Guard and earned awards such as Soldier of the Year! It was only this past April when my son, Brandon Shea Rowe, became a Sailor in the US Navy that I gained an even more in depth appreciation of all of our men and women who serve in the Military and stand ready to give there lives for the freedom we all enjoy. I earned a new respect for the sacrifice they give in the terribly difficult training in boot camp, the separation from all family and friends for long periods of time. Giving all of there personal time up until the military deems it ok to have leave. Living each day understanding that the next they may have to give there life to save others who are not willing to fight, but never minding to do so. Because of this realization I am today, more than ever before so PROUD to be an American and my heart swells with PRIDE, ADMORATION and so much APPRECIATION for all of the Veterans and all of those currently serving today! I Thank Them from the bottom of my heart for making the USA a great country to live in and for serving selflessly for me and all other US citizens:) As My Sailor would say BRAVO ZULU!!! (WELL DONE)

Thank Your For Your Service .....

As we continue to fight the Nation’s Battles against those whom would do us harm, remember our Veterans in that fight and those who were in that fight. The bond shared by all Veterans of honorable service is beyond any feeling known to man. As one of the many Past Presidents of the Military Veterans in Power, please remember Diversity and Inclusion is a Valuable business asset that creates effective communication across many cultures. I’ve seen the value and transformation first hand, remember the cost of FREEDOM goes beyond any social differences one may have….One Team, One Fight!!!

This is a copy of the front cover of the State department magazine (the only time I have been on the cover of a magazine). I am the center Marine in the front row. it was April 18th, 1983 approximately 1:05pm local time in Beirut Lebanon. That building in the background is the US embassy. There were many people screaming for us to get them out. The next day we were could clear away the rubble and collect the dead. We put body parts in a body bag, not knowing if all the parts went to the same person. It is a day I cannot forget not even 35 years later.

To each and every Veteran, present and past, thank you! Your service to our country took sacrifice on your part and the least I can do is give you the honor you deserve. To the families of our military today, thank you also. Your sacrifice is just as hard and just as appreciated. I pray for God's protection over each person serving today and their families. May God bless each one of you!
